The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees, Village of Remsen met on February 09th, 2021, at 6:00 pm virtually, compliant with covid.
Those present were: Mayor Martin Flint, Trustees; Susan Bartholomew, Kate Creighton, Noah Ives and Roger Wilson. Also attending was: Lisa Bellinger and Jim Moseman.
The minutes were read and a treasurer’s report was given. Balances were as follows: General Fund $28,693.22 Water Fund $77,514.38, Sewer Fund $146,004.84, General Truck $33,223.28, Emergency Services $82,166.89, ESCIF $160,465.44, WECIF $24,029.38, SECIF $57,885.68, Sewer Engineering Planning Grant Fund $9,096.83 and Chips $21,286.84.
Kate made the resolution to approve the January 12th, minutes. It was seconded by Susan. All approved and carried. The vote was 5-0.
Bills of the month were audited and a motion was made by Noah to pay them. It was seconded by Kate. All approved and carried. The vote was 5-0.
Lisa gave an update on NOCCOG announcements.
Susan made the resolution accepting the Fair Housing Policy prohibiting discrimination in housing. The motion was seconded by Roger. All approved and carried. The vote was 5-0. Copy attached.
Katharine made the resolution accepting the Civil Rights, Equal Employment Opportunity, and Section 3 Policy. The motion was seconded by Roger. All approved and carried. The vote was 5-0. Copy attached.
Noah made the resolution appointing Susan Bartholomew as the Fair Housing Policy Officer. It was seconded by Roger. All approved and carried. The vote was 5-0. Copy attached.
The Fair Housing Poster has been posted at the Village Office.
The Mayor told that our insurance will increase by $200.00 this year. He said we need to send in Roger driving information and have Will needs to be taken off from the previous year.
Susan made the resolution to accept the increase in the insurance policy for this year. It was seconded by Kate. All approved and carried. The vote was 5-0.
The Mayor told of the problem with the valve at school. School had to close for a half day. Two bolts broke. Schallenbergs came quickly.
He also told of the septic problem at the office. Schallenbergs came quickly to help us with that problem too. It is working now but repairs need to be made so it won’t happen again. $630.00 was paid to Schellenberg’s this month for the repairs at the office.
The Mayor has met with Tom Bronson to discuss a few projects in the Village.
Noah made the motion to adjourn the meeting at 6:44. It was seconded by Roger. All approved and carried.
